Growth
Custom Window Extrusions, Inc. has grown
very rapidly since start-up in 1985 due to excellence in
quality and service. In April of 1988 we expanded into a
75,000 square foot facility in Delmont, Pennsylvania. Our
1991 expansion project increased plant size by 33,000 square
feet. In addition, three extrusion lines, computer aided
design "CAD", a computer numerically controlled
"CNC" machine center, and a state-of-the art wire
"EDM", propelled Custom Window Extrusions, Inc.
into an industry leader in vinyl extrusion technology.
 During
1993, the number of extrusion lines expanded to twenty-two.
This lead to another expansion in April 1994, where we added
32,000 square feet taking the plant to 140,000 square feet.
Our die production increased dramatically with the addition
of a second wire "EDM" in January of 1996, and
an automatic die cleaning machine was installed by year's
end which improved die quality and efficiency. Early January
1997 saw the addition of two new dual strand extrusion lines,
which in effect, increases productivity by the equivalent
of four standard extrusion lines.
Two more twin extruders delivered in June
of 1999 have expanded our production floor to 28 extruders/30
downstreams. As in the past, these additional extruders,
along with a growing customer base, pushed Custom Window's
140,000 square feet to the limit. In September of 2000,
another 32,250 square foot addition was inaugurated. The
addition of six extruders between October 2001 and May 2002,
allowed us to expand the product floor to 35 lines.
